I forgot to mention in the journal entry that when we were in the dollar store, the woman next to me in the Halloween aisle, holding a witch hat, said out loud to no one in particular, "Now where would I find me a broom?" Well, I couldn't help myself, the words flew out of my mouth before I even knew it and I couldn't take them back.

"Over at my mother's," I said.

Why, this woman stared at me a full thirty seconds before I said I was kidding, really. We had a nice chat after that, and I did tell my mother what I had said and she thought it was quite funny.
